When We Pray
In her book, “In Search of a Crown,” Helen B. Emmons states, “Most of us at one time or another, say our prayers. But do we really pray?” Helen asks this question because she is asking the reader to reflect on the true meaning of prayer. She describes prayer as a intimate friendship that reveals the depths of our souls. Ralph S. Cushman describes the yearning and intimacy of prayer in his poem,
“I love to come to this still place
Where deeper peace is always found.
To kneel as though on holy ground,
And feel my Master face to face.
I do not know how I could live
If there were not this refuge sweet,
Where I could linger at His feet
And He to me sweet healing give.
Take time to pray, and feel the presence of God move within your being…
